Eyelash
transplantation can be used to replace eyelashes that have been damaged by
trauma, or to enhance
existing eyelashes that are otherwise short and/or sparse.
Eyelash
transplantation procedure:
The procedure is carried out
under local anaesthesia in an outpatient environment. The patient is
seen for a personal consultation the day before surgery, and can leave
Budapest the day after.
The procedure takes about 2 to 4 hours to
complete.
Hair follicles from the back of the scalp (donor site)
are harvested and then implanted into the eyelid for complete eyelash
transplantation
.
Usually 20 to 40 or more lashes can be placed per eyelid during a session.
The newly growing lashes will possess the same characteristics as s
calp hair. The lashes will need to be routinely trimmed and curled.
Thr
ough the microsurgical technique employed, the correct orientation and
curly look of the new lashes can be achieved.
