Linda Briggs.co.uk five years old

Published in the commercetoday magazine September 2004

Linda Briggs.co.uk is five years old in August, which is why Linda is giving the website a 'face lift'.  The whole concept of the business started with Linda's own face-lift in August 1999.

Having been a lawyer since leaving school, this 45 year old woman was looking like a 60 year old and still felt like a 20 year old, but couldn't find one!

The business evolved because she wrote a story about her face-lift for a women's magazine called Women's journal.  It was featured in the Daily Mail and every women in England looking for cosmetic surgery decided to ask Linda how she managed to achieve a successful result.  Was it luck, skill, research or just trust?  Her life was gradually taken over by people wanting information and she needed an income to be able to give it.  The first rule of networking is to give; so she gave freely and willingly to anyone who asked.

The business now has contacts around the world, which includes cosmetic surgeons, dentists and a list of others too long to mention.  Linda receives enquiries from patients looking for professionals globally.  With up to 11,500 hits on her website each day, Linda works hard.  To make use of the passing traffic, an internet shop sells beauty and quick fix products for people wanting to look their best.

As some of the most highly skilled surgeons are overseas, Linda met opposition from UK professionals, who want the whole world to think that we have the best health service.

She worked hard on developing travel insurance especially for patients travelling for surgery.  It started for breast augmentation and then cover for any cosmetic surgery.  Linda is currently working on other policies to help those who cannot wait for the NHS, don't want to risk getting MRSA, or don't want to pay for private health care in the UK.

Linda and her husband Mike now run the business as a partnership and Mike gets all the good jobs like book-keeping, VAT, tax and anything else that Linda can't be bothered with.

Occasionally, other family and friends are called in to assist when Linda and Mike need a break or go overseas to meet new contacts.

So where is this sophisticated operation?  In a sleepy little village in the middle of the Fens that doesn't have mains drainage or gas, let alone Broadband.

With the help of the Chamber of Commerce Linda will raise her profile and make you think Linda Briggs - every time you think of cosmetic surgery.
